The science-and-practice peer reviewed Siberian Medical Journal restored the best traditions of the national medical periodical publications. The journal was established in the Tomsk Gubernia in 1922. Its publishing was renewed after 65-year gap. Since 1996, the journal has been issued quarterly. Currently, the website of the journal is available at the platform of ElPub electronic editorial office.
The Siberian Medical Journal is of interest to scientific workers, postgraduate students, practicing physicians, resident doctors, students, and broad readership interested in the achievements of the state-of-the-art medicine. Primary theme of the journal focuses on the key questions of cardiology, cardiac surgery, and related scientific disciplines. The articles address the questions of etiology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The specifics of clinical presentation, the newest methods of diagnosis and treatment, comorbidities of cardiovascular pathology, patient rehabilitation problems, and issues of improving the medical help to patients and population are discussed. The journal publishes the articles within the subject codes of 14.00.00 — Medical Science in specialties of 14.01.00 — Clinical Medicine; 14.02.00 — Prevention Medicine; 14.03.00 — Medical-Biological Sciences; and 14.04.00 — Pharmaceutical Silences. The results of public expertise and 10-year Hirsch index of the Siberian Medical Journal (HI=16) exceed the median value in the group of the leading journals of cardiological profile.
